Hello! I recently found these old Borsalino hats in their original wedge-shaped boxes. They are labeled, "Grand Prix Paris 1900" and look like beanie caps. They are strange looking and I am thinking that these are souvenir hats that were sold to onlookers at the 1900 Grand Prix car race in Paris in 1900. I looked for information everywhere on the internet and found nothing, which leads me to believe that these beanies are not only old, but rare as well. All of the physical aspects of the boxes, the hat shape and lettering on the hats appears to be consistent with the 1900 date as well. I am in the process of collecting as much information as possible, before I list them on Ebay, unless I get an offer that seems reasonable without listing them.
As the owner/curator of London House Antiquities, I occasionally come across rather unique items. The last such item was a John Speed Map dating from 1670. As information rolls in, I will keep readers abreast of this developing hat happening.
